First Sunday in Advent

Summary

Christmas is coming, the light is coming, Jesus is coming.

Jesus coming in the past, Jesus coming in the present, Jesus coming in the future.

We celebrate the historical fact of Jesus coming into the world 2000 years ago.  We also think about the coming of Jesus in the future.  The message of the bible teaches that Jesus will come again. We think about that coming in the future when God will transform everything into the new creation that he will prepare.  Yes we expect God to win his final victory but for now we need to continue to work out things as best we can.  Wake, wake up know that Jesus is coming.  Jesus said where two or three are gathered there I am in the midst of them.  Jesus gives himself to us in the communion.
