The Hole in Our Gospel
The Education Committee under Átila Mellilo has picked another ”Book of the Year” for the congregation to read and study together. This year we are encouraged to read The Hole in Our Gospel by the head of World Vision, Richard Stearns. Later this Spring and again in the Fall we will have opportunity to come together as a community and reflect together on this tremendous witness to the Gospel of Jesus Christ in our world.
The book has been procured for the membership at a fabulous discount price of 150 NOK. 150 NOK is the suggested donation for the book, but everyone is encouraged to read the book. Copies are in the church library, but if you wish to have your personal copy and cannot give the suggested donation, then give what you can, no questions asked.
Many of our members have already been greatly inspired through reading it and are eager to begin discussions and study groups. If you wish for further information and resources to the book go to the website for the book: www.theholeinourgospel.com

The summer months are upon us. Many of our members are going on vacations all over the world. We pray each one of us safe travel and joyful vacation. If you are a tourist or have just arrived Oslo and new in town, welcome to Oslo! You are welcome to worship with us at ALC. Our worship service starts at 11:00 AM on Sunday, the 1st and the 3rd sunday are Holy Communion Sundays.
Our members who are leaving our community to re-settle in another place, we offer thanks for our church life together at ALC. In this transition time, each of us pray for one another that you will be blessed in your new place as much as you have been a blessing to us.
"O God, our beginning and our end, yu kept Abraham and Sarah in safety throughout the days of their pilgrimage, you led the children of Israel through the midst of the sea, and by a star you led the magi to the infant Jesus. Protect and guide us now as we set out to travel. Make our ways safe and our homecomings joyful, and bring us at last to our heavenly home, where you dwell in glory with our Lord Jesus Christ and the life-giving Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen." (Lutheran Book of Worship)
