For people that are unable to walk, we will be able to drive from Grønmo to Østmarkskapellet (special permit and key needed).
In the forest in the Oslo area, Blue signs indicates summer routes and red signs winter routes (ski tracks in the winter). Good footwear is recommended if you plan to walk in the forest (not needed on the roads). It is a bit wet at this time of the year in the forest.
HOW TO GET THERE:
CLOSEST STARTING POINT for walking is Grønmo Parkinglot 2-2,5 km walking (Free parking). Easy access if you come by car (There is no bus that goes to the parkinglot).
ANOTHER GOOD STARTING POINT is Skullerud (Skullerudstua), close to Skullerud Bus stop (the T-Bane is currently closed) 4-5km walking (Free parking). This is the easiest way for most of you if you use public transportation.
There will be someone at Skullerudstua and at Grønmo at 9 am if you want to walk up with a group.
ANOTHER ALTERNATIVE STARTING POINT is Mortensrud Bus stop (T-Bane is currently closed) about 3,5-4 km walk from Grønmo parkinglot. (Adress: SØRLIVEIEN 70)
DRIVING THERE: Going South on E6 from Ryenkrysset. Take the Klemetsrud exit and then the Grønmo exit. Drive by the landfill at the end of the road is the parkinglot (where the road turns 90 degrees to the left. The next parking lot is another 100 meters up , by the Golf club).
Going South on E18 from Oslo (Mosseveien) take road no 155 East towards Klemetsrud and Enebakk at the Klemetsrud roundabout follow signs towards Grønmo. Map link.
Walking from Grønmo Parkinglot:
A. Walking along the road from Grønmo (A) to Østmarkkapellet (B):
From the parkinglot (the first one you get to) walk to the (south) gate and follow the road and signs towards ØstmarkSkapellet (Østmarkkpl) it is about 2,5 km and a bit uphill. Walking time 30-40 minutes. Make sure you make a sharp left turn after the lake on your right. Easy walking un an unpaved road . Map link.
B. Walking from Grønmo Parking lot to Østmarkskapellet through the forest on a path. From the parking lot closer to the Golfcourt/Clubhouse. Walk through the (north) gate and turn right ater about 200 meters follow signs towards Østmarkkpl. There are many different paths up there.. Walkingtime 20-30 minutes, quite a bit uphill. (see link in the first map overview) You need good footwear as it is often wet.
From Skullerud:
Walk from the Skullerud busstop /T-bane towards southeast east towards the forest and follow signs to Skullerudstua ( 8 min). Map link.
There is a big free parkinglot at Skullerudstua.
Then follow signs to Østmarkskapellet appr. 4km walkingtime,- 45 minutes through the forest or follow the road (and signs) towards Grønmo, and then follow Grønmo instructions (60-70 minutes).
From Mortensrud Bus stop (T-Bane 3 is not operating):
Walk east . Walk under E6 and down the hill towards Dal (see link) . Find path at the end of the road Dalssvingen (Marked B on the map) Follow the path east and follow signs to Østmarkkapellet. Flat and the a bit uphill. Walkingtime 45-60 minutes.
