Dear ALC family and friends,
Here are some news from ALC :
Angela, Emanuel and their lovely four year old daughter, who are members of our congregation,
need a place to live during the first three weeks of August. Angela has just completed her Masters
in Diakonia/Christian social work from Diakonhjemmet. She and her family will be returning
to Malawi in the last week of August, where they will live the remainder of the year until she
returns to do her PhD next year. The lease on their student housing at Diakonhjemmet
terminates at the end of this month as the flat has to be made available to the next batch
of students. They are in an especially critical situation because the deal on the place they were
supposed to move to fell through at the last moment and they have a small child. Angela has
an amazing testimony about God’s provision in the past, and I am sure she will have one about
His provision in their current situation too. Perhaps you will be part of it! Please contact Angela
at 92508609 or 93981969 if you or somebody you know is in a position to help them out.
They come warmly recommended by the ALC’s prayer group where they are very active.

August 11 – after the 11am worship service – A Tour of the Origin of Christianity in Oslo
Have you ever wondered when and how Christianity came to Norway? What happened to the Norsk gods?
We are blessed to have an extremely talented local tour guide, Mr. Roberts, who will lead us from ALC to Gamlebyen,
where Christianity began in Oslo for approximately 1 ½ hours of history and fun. Rain or shine – NO CHARGE! (Voluntary
donations collected at the end of the tour go to the African orphanage Watoto). If you are interested in coming, it is
much appreciated if you simply either sign up on the bulletin board at ALC or shoot a quick email to Janet Maybank
(janet.maybank@gmail.com) so we can get an approximate count – but even if you don’t sign up, of course, come!
