Exciting Opportunity for the Women at ALC!

All women of the church are invited to our first weekend away retreat at Lia Gård!
Kari Berit Gustafson and Emily Rova-Hegener will be leading a fun, relaxing and engaging retreat and you are invited
to join us! We hope you will join us, as we learn about how we, as women, age spiritually, mentally, emotionally and
physically through God’s eyes!
Who: Open to women in our congregation (space is limited to 15 women)
Theme: Our Wrinkles in Time: Growing Older in God’s Grace
Where: Lia Gård Retreat Center, Koppang, Norway (about a three-hour drive from Oslo) www.liagard.no
When: Friday, October 27th, leave at Noon and return by 17:00 on Sunday, October 29th
Sign up deadline is October 10th
Transportation plays a role in the cost and how we all get to Lia Gård. If we can find four drivers, it makes it much
easier and cost efficient. If we need to take the train, the cost is an extra 750 KR/pp. We also need to leave in the late
morning on Friday (noon at the latest), due to Oslo traffic. If you can drive, please let me know and we’ll make our
transportation decision when we know who is attending.
How much: 1600 KR shared room; 1800 KR single (both with bathroom down the hall, shared with others)
What’s Included: Your lodging (bedding included) and six meals for the weekend. There is financial assistance
available for those who need it. Please talk with Emily.
Please e-mail or contact Emily to secure your spot as soon as possible! E-mail: pastoremily@gmail.com, message on
Facebook, or text me at: 48992659. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to get in touch with me.

Both Kari Berit and I look forward to sharing this awesome weekend with you!

What you want to know about Kari Berit: Kari brings over 25 years of experience
and a huge passion for the subject of aging and family caregiving into her
retreats. An author, speaker, radio show host and regular column contributor,
Kari is known for her wit, energy, kindness and insight. She has presented
professionally for nearly 30 years to audiences of 17-700 and looks at herself as a
catalyst to create a comfort zone to discuss elephant issues, such as aging. Kari
welcomes the opportunity to explore the spiritual, emotional and physical
components of aging.
What you want to know about Emily: Emily loves people and their stories. Her passion is listening for God in daily
life and seeking to know how God is calling us to love God’s people in the world! In addition to being married to the
pastor at the American Lutheran Church, she is also a pastor, spiritual director, mom of two boys, teacher, retreat
leader, hiker, writer, and loves to eat really good food and drink really good coffee. Emily loves to laugh and have fun.
She looks forward to learning more about who you are and how God continues to open and deepen us as we age!
