Retreat Saturday Oct 22nd at Haslumseter kapell
for the Congregational Retreat this coming Saturday.
Please meet at the parking lot by Fossum Klubbhus,
Ankerveien 245, in Eiksmarka by 9 a.m.
From Oslo, take the T-bane to Eiksmarka and then
you can take bus #732 (to Ila) to Fossumbanen.
Please note : #732 bus goes only once an hour.
Leaving Eiksmarka at 08:58
Arriving Fossumbanen at 09:02
If you miss it there is no bus until 09:58.
If you need help getting from T-bane at Eiksmarka
to Fossum, we are able to assist. Please Call Kirsten
L. (tel. 93 84 85 98) so that she can arrange to
meet you at Eiksmarka station.
Wear weather appropriate clothing and sturdy shoes.
Please bring a water bottle or other drink of your choice.
From Fossum klubbhus we will follow the blue-marked
path, following signs first to Østernvann and then to
Haslumseter kapell. Stop for a coffee and cookie by
beautiful Østernvann, about 1/2 of the way up. (Bring
your own coffee and snacks). Continue on up to beautiful
Haslumseter kapell. The hike is not steep but will take
1-2 hours depending on your speed. The distance is
6,5 km. Once at the chapel, we will have teaching,
lunch, and worship time together.
We will plan to finish the retreat around 3:30 in the afternoon
so everyone can hike down before dark. A small group of
volunteers will be staying overnight at the chapel and will
be responsible for running the church service there at 12 noon
the next day. Anyone is welcome to stay overnight, but please
let Sarah know so we can plan accordingly.
There will be opportunity to give a freewill donation to offset
the cost of the retreat.
IMPORTANT: If you would like to participate, but think
you are not physically capable of doing the hike, please contact sarahkaldestad (AT) hotmail.com asap to make alternative arrangements
for transportation.

ALC Congregational Retreat. We welcome all members and friends to a retreat at Haslumseter Kapell in Bærum, on October 22nd. We will meet at the parking lot by Fossum Idrettsforening at 9 a.m. and then start walking towards the chapel. The walk takes 1-2 hours depending on your speed and the path is stroller-friendly. For those not able to walk due to physical disability we will be able to have a car permit for transport. There will be activities for both children and adults so all ages are welcome. Lunch and refreshments will be provided by the church. We plan to finish by late afternoon.
We also need a small number of volunteers to stay overnight at the chapel and help with the church service there on the Sunday. Please contact Sarah Kaldestad if you are interested in staying overnight. More information about the facilities can be found at www.haslumseter.no
