A time to connect with God.
Gather Together
Every week, something is happening at ALC — and all of it starts with an open door. We gather on Sundays for worship, and throughout the week for Bible study, prayer, and fellowship. However you find your way in, there is a place for you here.

OUR COMMUNITY
What To Expect
At ALC, worship is rooted in the Lutheran tradition and led with genuine warmth. We sing from the Evangelical Lutheran Worship hymnal — rich, time-tested music carried by the sound of the organ and the voices of the congregation. The service follows a familiar liturgical rhythm, yet it never feels distant or formal. People are invited to participate — as readers, liturgical assistants, choir members, and prayer leaders — because we believe worship is something we do together, not something that happens to us.
One of the highlights of every Sunday is the Children's Message. Pastor Sherri calls the children forward and speaks directly to them — with a story, a question, or a moment of wonder — before the whole congregation joins in a shared prayer and the children head off to Sunday School. It is a small moment that says something big about who we are.
WORSHIP
At ALC, worship follows the Lutheran liturgical tradition — organ-led, hymnal-grounded, and carried by the voices of the whole congregation. Familiar yet alive, traditional yet warm.
TEACHING
We take scripture seriously and hold it with open hands — exploring God's word honestly from the pulpit, in Bible study, and over coffee, believing it still has something to say to our lives today.
COMMUNITY
Church doesn't end when the service does. Some of the best moments at ALC happen downstairs in Hanson Hall over Norwegian waffles — where thirty nations share one table and nobody is a stranger for long.
YOUTH
Children and teenagers are not the future of this church — they are the church, right now. From the Children's Message each Sunday to teenage Bible study and community outings, every generation has a place here.
CELEBRATE WITH US
Special Services
The church year is full of moments worth marking together. Beyond our regular Sunday worship, ALC gathers for a handful of special services throughout the year — each one an invitation to slow down, go deeper, and experience the seasons of faith in community.
-

Lenten Wednesdays
After our special Ash Wednesday service, we gather for Lenten Wednesday - evening prayer followed by a shared soup supper. Simple, unhurried, and open to all.
-

Holy Week
The week before Easter is our most sacred. We gather for a Seder Meal on Maundy Thursday and a worship service on Good Friday — walking together through the final days before the resurrection. Easter Sunday is our most joyful service of the year. Christ is risen — and we celebrate with everything we have.
-

Christmas Eve
A candlelight service at 4:00 pm, followed by a pot-luck dinner in Hanson Hall for members and friends who may be far from home. It has become one of the most beloved traditions in our community.
-

Christmas Day
A traditional service with Holy Communion at 11:00 AM.
