GET INVOLVED

Many Gifts. One Community.

Opportunities to make a difference.

Faith In Action

Our church is shaped and sustained by the people who call it home. With a small staff, much of the life of ALC is made possible by members and friends who share their time, talents, and experience in ways both big and small.

There are many ways to get involved - from worship, music, and fellowship to education, communications, technology, stewardship, membership, and caring for our church building. Some teams meet regularly, while others come together around a particular event, project, or need.

Whether you get involved regularly, lend a hand from time to time, or take on a specific task, your contribution matters. We know life has busy seasons, so there’s no one way to participate.

Whatever your interests, skills, or availability, there’s a place for you. We’d love to help you find a way to contribute that feels right for you.

BUILDING SOMETHING TOGETHER

Volunteer Spotlight

“Volunteering at ALC allows me to show my two children what it means to serve with a willing heart. When we give our time and work together, we create the belonging and community that can be so easily lost in modern life. I hope that, by seeing me help with different tasks around the church, they learn the value of contributing to something greater than themselves. ALC is supported by a small team, so every helping hand truly matters—and that brings us closer together. After all, the church is not the building; it is the people.”

  • Worship & Music

Help make Sunday worship happen—from music, readings and ushering to altar preparation, sound and livestreaming.

  • Fellowship & Hospitality

Help create the welcoming community around ALC through coffee and waffles, shared meals, celebrations, retreats and special events. Historically, Fellowship has been explicitly about creating opportunities for members and visitors to meet, connect and welcome others.

  • Education & Faith Formation

Support opportunities for children, youth and adults to learn, explore faith and grow together.

  • Welcome & Membership

Help welcome visitors, connect with newcomers and support people who would like to become part of ALC. The Membership Committee has historically covered greeting, connecting with potential members and new-member activities.

  • Communications & Technology

Help keep our community connected through the website, social media, livestreaming and the technology that supports church life.

  • Stewardship

Help encourage the giving of time, talents and financial resources that makes ALC's life and mission possible. That reflects the committee's historical remit, which includes both financial giving and contributions of time and talent.

  • Property & Practical Support

Help care for our church building and grounds, from maintenance and improvements to occasional workdays.
