BRADLEY STAUBES is a busy and multi-faceted musician frequently performing in a variety of contexts all around Oslo and beyond. As a keyboard player, he is the Music Director and Organist at The American Lutheran Church in Frogner, as well as being one of the busiest freelance organists in the city, playing over 100 different weddings, funerals, special services and concerts every year. He was director and accompanist for the Yuletide Chorale (Oslo’s English-language Christmas festival choir), and continues as accompanist for Ullern Kammerkor, for whom he has played Brahms Requiem, Carmina Burana. St. John Passion, Haydn’s ‘The Seasons,’ and Messiah among others. He was also rehearsal accompanist for the “Sarpsborg 1000th Anniversary” performance of Carmina Burana.
Bradley is also a very experienced singer and cellist. Here in Oslo he has sung as soloist and chorister with the Oslo Filharmonisk kor (including solos in Oslo Filharmonien’s performance of Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms), as well as both soloist and chorister with Vestre Aker Kammerkor and Ullern Kammerkor. He was the baritone in the men’s quartet ‘The Barbershop Avengers,’ with performances on the main stage at Den Norske Opera & Ballett and other places. As a cellist he has played with the Oslo Kammerorkester and in various professional and volunteer performances.
A native of Washington DC who spent almost 20 years in New York City, Bradley was organist and choir director at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in the Bronx and St. Anthony in Yonkers, has sung with the Washington Opera (Kennedy Center), Prince George’s Opera, The National Chorale (Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall), The Village Light Opera Group, and as chorister, soloist, and song leader at both the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception (Washington DC) and St. Patrick’s Cathedral (NYC). He conducted the Cabrini Singers for 18 years, including performances in Times Square, Ellis Island, the Grand Ballroom at the Waldorf Astoria, and on “Good Morning America.” His choral compositions have been recorded numerous times, and performed in such far-flung venues as St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome.
