Week 5 Mark 9 and Mark 10

February 9, 2020

Summary

The entire Gospel of Mark is being presented in Sunday worship, from
January 12 through March 1.

Today’s presentation includes Mark 9:9 through Mark 11:10 – from the
Transfiguration of Jesus until the Triumphal Entry into Jerusalem. Here
are some key passages:

Have pity on us and help us, if you possibly can!

Yes, if you yourself can! Everything is possible for the person who has
faith.

I do have faith, but not enough. Help me have more!

Whoever wants to be first must place himself last of all and be the
servant of all.

Let the children come to me, and do not stop them, because the Kingdom
of God belongs to such as these. I assure you that whoever does not
receive the Kingdom of God like a child will never enter it.

Then he took the children in his arms, placed his hands on each of them,
and blessed them.

You need only one thing. Go and sell all you have and give the money to
the poor, and you will have riches in heaven; then come and follow me.

Who, then, can be saved?

This is impossible for human beings but not for God; everything is
possible for God.

For even the Son of Man did not come to be served. He came to serve and
to give his life to redeem many people.
Jesus! Son of David! Have mercy on me!

Praise God! God bless him who comes in the name of the Lord! God bless
the coming Kingdom of King David, our Father! Praise be to God!
