HANSON, Dr., OSCAR C. Born Feb. 2, 1908, Astoria, S.D. to Henry O. and Mary (Rasmusson) Hanson. Augustana College, Sioux Falls, S.D., B.A., 1929; Luther Seminary, St. Paul, 1936, B. Th. Pacific Lutheran University, Tacoma, Wash., D.D., 1949. Married Myrtle Lokken, 1935, Irene, S.D. Pastor at Watertown, S.D., 1937-41; Dean of Men, Park Region College, Fergus Falls, Minn., 1930-31; Waldorf College, Forest City, la., 1931-33; Concordia College, Moorhead, Minn., 1936-37. Exec. Sec. of Young Peoples Luther League of E.L.C., 1941-48; President of Lutheran Bible Institute, Minneapolis, 1948-53. Pastor of the American Lutheran church of Oslo, Norway, 1958-60; on the staff of the Dept. of Evangelism of The American Lutheran Church, 1953. They made their home in St. Paul, Minn.

In the fall of 1955, Dr. Hanson and Rev. Agnar S. Tanner, also of the Evangelism staff, spent six weeks in Norway in Preaching-Teaching-Reaching (PTR) missions, in the Oslo and Østfold areas, sponsored jointly by the Norwegian State Church and the Christian Independent Groups of Norway. Author of: "Live To Win"; "March to Win"; "Out Of Old Ruts"; "At Your Best" (translated into Norwegian "Du Skal Faa Kraft") .
Dr. Hanson was the first pastor of The American Lutheran Church, in Oslo.
