JOHN WERNESS

Born Mar. 26, 1876, Hell, Norway, to Michael and Lorenza Jacobson Svendsen. Immigrated in 1894. Married Ina Peterson, Jan. 24, 1900, Mpls. Farmed near Cokato, Minn. for many years and was active in community affairs, the bank, creamery, shipping assoc., etc. Died Mar. 13, 1957, Cokato, Minn. Interment Lakewood Cemetery, Mpls., Minn.

Brothers: Peder and Ingebrit Svendsen, both of Norway.

Children: Dr. Stanley, Mpls.; George, Mpls.; John L., Mpls.; Mrs. Elmer Brice, Portland, Ore.

Seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren (1957).
