Born Oct. 10, 1870, S. Undal, Mandal, Norway to Reinert A. and Trine Marie (Pedersen) Rolfsen.

Immigrated in 1891. Spent some time as a sailor; attended the navigation school at Mandal, Norway. Attended the United Church Seminary, ordained in 1899. Married Marie Nathalia Nilsen, 1898. Died Jan. 14, 1933.

Served parishes at: Paulsbo, Wash.; Hattan, N.D.; Brooklyn; Milan, Minn.;

Eau Claire, Wis.; Madelia, Minn.; traveling secretary for Zion Society for Israel, etc. His son Dr. Rolf A. Syrdal is a pastor in the A.L.C., Missionary to China, director of World Missions of A.L.C., professor

at Luther College, Decorah, la.
