Born Apr. 5, 1874 to Jens L. and Anne, (b. in Sogn) Stedje. Immigrated in 1870 to Wis. where Jens was born. In 1876 they moved to Leland, Ia. Married Clara Johnson, May, 1904, at Leland. In 1922 they moved and settled in Oslo settlement 16 miles N W of Gruver, Tex., where he died July 12, 1922. He helped establish the Oslo Luth. Church, where his children and grandchildren are active members.

Children: Cora (m. Emil Knutson), James (m. Eda Joyce Spivey); Gordon (m. Anna Marie Spivey); Iv1arie; Clifford (m. Jane Weinheimer) ; all of Gruver.
