Born May 22, 1844, Kristiansand, Norway
to Mr. and Mrs. Iver Siqveland. Grandfather~ Torger Siqveland. Brothers: Jens, artist and musician, Albert, sea captain, Johannes, pastor. Sister: Louise, nurse. Immigrated in 1870. 
Married Clara Marie Joys (d. 1944, age 93), Oct. 11, 1870, Manistee, Mich.,
where the Joys family had settled the previous year. Thorwald had planned to proceed to Milwaukee, Wis., but the need for a doctor was so great in Manistee that he settled there.
He organized and led singing societies, was active in the little Luth. church,
loved poetry, and was well liked by his patients and friends. Died Jan. 24, 1881, of pheumonia, age 36, Manistee, Mich.

Children~ a girl who died in infancy; Ivar (1872-1958), dentist in St. Paul, Minn.; Mabel (b. 1875), teacher, Jens (b.
1879) artist.

Honored by Th. Siqveland, Royal Consulate General for Norway in Mpls. in Minn. (dated 1961) .
