Born April 6, 1861, Heidal, Vaage, Gulbrandsdalen, Norway to Ener O.(1820 -1895) and Ronnaug (Fjerdingen, 1823-1898) Rusten. Immigrated in 1880 to Eau Claire, Wis. Married Klara Larsdatter Benrud, Sept. 23, 1884, Eau Claire, Wis.
Died April 10, 1930, Eau Claire, Wis.
Siblings: Ole E. (1844-?); Knudt E. (1847-1934); Syver E. (1850-1894); Peter E. (1852-?); Hans E. (1855-1922); Marit Bekkemellem (1858-1951); Ragnhild Paulson (1866-1958).

He was a barber 40 years, taught Sunday School and served on boards of United Church in Eau Claire. Farmed near Pigeon Falls and carried on barber trade.
In pioneer spirit he served as doctor, mortician, barber, druggist, and helpful Christian neighbor.alt

Born Feb. 22, 1860, Biri, Norway. Immigrated in 1880 to Pigeon Falls, Wis. 
Married  Ener Rusten, 1884. Died Jan.18,1943.

Children: Emma (died as infant, 1888); Lydia Agnethe (m. E.L. Stavig}, Rosholt, S.D. (b. Mar. 8, 1891); Clara Emelia (1893-1904); Emma Esther (m. Edw. Fish) Eau Claire, Wis.(b. Mar. 30, 1897);
Elmer Mathew Rusten, M.D. (b. Oct. 5, 1902), dermatologist, Wayzata, Minn.

Honored by Dr. and Mrs. ELMER MATHEW RUSTEN, Wayzeta, Minn.
