to Rev. Jens B. and Christine (Hinderlie) Reinertsen. Attended Clifton College, Clifton, Texas; St. Olaf College; Luther Seminary; Natal Univ. College. Ordained in 1943. 

Married LILLIAN EDNA MUNSON, who

was born at Catawba, Wis., Sept. 2, 1915. He served Our Savior's, Duluth, Minn. and in 1946 they went as missionaries to South Africa where he was principal of the Zulu Lutheran High School. Both died June 4, 1959 in Africa.

Three children: Naomi Arline; James Luther; Peter Erling.

"They had been attending a Lutheran Union meeting in Johannesburg. With them were Mrs. Ellertson, mother of our missionary, Carroll Ellertson, and two Zulu pastors, Rev. Mkwanazi and Rev. Nene. Enroute to Welkom, Orange Free State, where they were serving as missionaries,
they were on the main through highway between Johannesburg and Cape-town. A car coming from a side route failed to heed the stop sign, hitting the Reinertsen car broadside. Rev. and Mrs. Reinertsen were killed. Mrs. Ellertson was not seriously injured. The two Zulu pastors were seriously injured. Funeral services were held at Welkom on June 8. Most of our missionaries in South Africa were present.
Rev. Carl Otte, Mission Supt., preached the funeral sermon, based on Romans 8:28."
