Born Nov. 9, 1873, Gvarv, Telemark, Norway, to Thorbjon (1844-1913) and Anne (1842--1922) Prestholdt. Immigrated in 1893. Married Serene Rollefson ( d. Sept. 20, 1973) May 6, 1916, Minneapolis.

In Norway he learned the blacksmith trade, and continued the trade for a while in Arnerica. He worked on a farm also and attended business college in the winters. He followed the lumber business, in Minnesota, then in Canada, and then back to Minneapolis in 1914,

where he had his own lumber business at 4301 E. Lake Street. On his desk he had a motto "Blessed is the man who has found his work." He was happy in his work, and diligent in activities of nation, school, and in 1919 was one of the founders of Central Lutheran Church where he was active for many yearS. He died, Sept. 1, 1957.

One son, Ogden who is Senior Project Engineer with CBS TV, New York.

He and his wife Ruth have two sons John and Richard.
