Born Sept. 12, 1863, Riskekvarven,

near Stavanger, Norway to Knut and Jarine Halmnersand. Immigrated

in 1884 to Deuel County S.D. Farmed near Astoria, S.D. Married Josephine

Larson (b. June 11, 1871; d. Oct. 1, 1912) on June 3. 1893. He and

his brother Martin took a trip to Norway in 1925. Died Mar. 6, 1935, age 71. Nine children.
