Born Sept. 23, 1865, Oslo, Norway to Jens (1830-97) and Caspara (1839-1936) F. Lorck Normann.
Grandparents: Marcus Marthin Normann, Peder Engerhaus Koch; Magdalene Dorothea Lorck Normann; Ellen Andrea R¢nning Koch.

He spent some of his time in childhood in the Lofoten Islands with his grandparents. His father Jens was a captain in the Norwegian Merchant Marine. He loved flowers and so after finishing school in Oslo he attended gardening school in Denmark. 

Immigrated in 1893. Married Marie Kleinsorg 1894, Chicago. At Lake Geneva, Wis. he drained and landscaped a piece of land and made a beautiful park. Returned to Norway in 1899 and had a greenhouse at Lysaker.
He spent many years as head gardner on large estates in America. He had the Tonkawood Greenhouse the last 20 years of his life. Died Mar. 12, 1961, at the advanced age of 95.

Brother: Magnus Eivind Koch (1863-1912). Sisters: Henriette B. Koch (1869-1941); Ellen B. Irgens Lind (1867-1920) Magdalene Glatvedt (1868-1939); Randi R. Koch (1885-1952); Caroline F. Koch (1885-1957).
