to Nils (d. 1912) and Elisabet Bele (d. 1891) Torvik. Grandfather:

Martinus Larsson Bele Torvik ( to USA in 1883, to Dane Prairie, Minn).

Grandmother: Maria Bele Torvik. Brother: Nels Torvik (1879 1954).

Immigrated in 1893. Married to Martin J. Holman, July 12, 1899, Pelican Rapids, Minn. Died August, 1950, Lake Elmo, Minn. Interment at Norwegian Grove, Minn. The house in which Marit and her brother Nels were born and raised is now the Stangvik Byde Museum.

Ten children: Johnnie; Bennie; Linda; Melvin; William; Beatrice; Helen; Rolfi Nora; Elmer. She had 23 grandchildren at the time of hear death in 1950.
